  Stopped at this location on the way to my brother's house with my husband to buy some of their unique sodas. I had realized earlier in the day that I didn't have my ID, which was one of the reasons that we decided to only buy sodas because we knew their policy for buying alcoholic drinks required all members of a group to show id. After picking out a variety of sodas my husband and I went to the front counter to pay. After the drinks were scanned the cashier asked my husband for his ID. We were surprised and let her know they were all non alcoholic. She said she understood, but that they had another policy that stated ANYTHING bought at bevmo required an ID check (even a glass the manager later told us with a chuckle). My husband handed her his ID and then she alerted us that I would also need to show ID. I informed her that I didn't have mine with me and she called the manager. The manager repeated the same information but discussed how being married is one exception but that I should make sure it doesn't happen again. She won't have to worry about that because we won't ever return to another bevmo again (world market & total wine are much better choices). Though I personally feel that requiring IDs for alcoholic products from all members of a party is stupid, I can understand their position. However this policy of only allowing 21+ to make ANY purchases or even associate with anyone making purchases is completely ridiculous and they really should have a sign of that posted on the front door so people don't waste their time.
